Kenya Mbuni Natural
Kenya Mbuni Natural is a high-elevation coffee grown at approximately 1,800 meters above sea level in Kenya’s Central Highlands, where rich volcanic soils and cool temperatures support the cultivation of classic varietals like SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, and Batian. Produced by smallholder farmers or estates such as Mchana in Kiambu County, this coffee is processed using the natural (dry) method, in which whole cherries are sun-dried with the fruit intact—an approach still relatively rare in Kenya, where washed processing has long been the standard. As alternative post-harvest methods like natural, honey, and anaerobic fermentation begin to gain traction, coffees like Kenya Muni Natural offer a vibrant and fruit-forward profile that reflects both innovation and terroir.
